Friends Actually

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026

Friends Actually is built to be a quiet, trustworthy place to keep up with people you actually know. Our privacy approach is simple:

What we collect

Only what you give us: your name, email, profile photo, posts, comments, and friendships. We don't track you across other websites. We don't run third-party ad or analytics trackers.

What we do with it

We use your data only to run the service — showing your posts to your friends, sending you notifications, and keeping your account secure.

What we don't do

You own your data

Your posts, comments, photos, and profile are yours. You can delete your account and all of your data at any time from your profile page. When you do, we permanently remove your posts, comments, likes, friendships, notifications, and account. It's gone — not archived, not held for "30 days," not recoverable.

Staying signed in

To keep you logged in across visits, we store a login session in your browser's local storage. It's only used to keep your account signed in on this device — we don't use cookies for tracking or analytics. Signing out clears it.

Security

We use industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep the surface area small.
